Protect your ears with your customized noise plugs

Posted on October 15, 2016

There are more people than we choose to believe, who suffer from hearing loss. Hearing loss can either be a consequence of an occupational hazard or can be due to aging. Hearing loss due to aging is unavoidable and can be delayed by taking good care but only slightly. Excessive exposure to noise such as for those who work at airports, construction sites or with machines that make too much noise, can cause premature hearing loss.

How does hearing loss happen?

Continuous exposure to high levels of noise beyond the permissible limits causes damage to the nerves in the ears. The nerve endings are killed due to constant noise which leads to hearing loss. This type of slow damage can be permanent if right precautions are not taken in time. Also, close proximity to the source of the noise can also lead to faster hearing loss.

Protection against hearing loss

It is crucial to protect your ears from constant high levels of noise. For people who are exposed to high noise levels due to their occupation or those who work with tools or equipment that make noise, it is imperative that the ears are covered with some kind of  protection. Ear protection can be of two types; earmuffs and noise plugs or custom ear moulds. Noise plugs fit snugly in the ear canal and protect the ears completely. If an ear plug does not fit the shape of the ear canal or is too worn out it will be of no use. A variety of noise plugs are available and they can be customized to the shape of a person’s ear canal. Custom molded noise plugs are more effective than disposable ear plugs because they are customized for the shape and size of the ear canal of the user. They are made by professionals who take the impressions of the ear canal area and customize the noise plug for the person. They can be either made up of silicone or acrylic material. Silicon and acrylic materials are highly moldable. Therefore, they keep changing their form and shape while fitting the canal tightly, even when the user is moving his mouth while chewing, talking, and so on.

Advantages of custom ear plugs

The best part about custom ear mold noise plugs is that they can be custom fitted for any shape of the ear canal. They can also be used in unusual ear shapes. Since the impression of the ear canal that is taken is true to the shape of the canal, they are very comfortable to wear. On the contrary the generic and disposable hearing aids can be very uncomfortable and may keep falling out of the ear.

It is important that the impression for the custom noise plugs is taken by a professional before ordering them. If you are looking for a dealer of noise plugs in Toronto, we will be glad to be at your service. We are the leaders in the noise plugs market in Toronto and our happy customers are a testimony to the same.
